The museum's architecture seamlessly blends contemporary design with historical significance, situated on the historic site of Gadsden's Wharf, where many enslaved Africans first arrived in the United States.

Designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), the IAAM features 12 outstanding permanent exhibitions accessible to visitors, showcasing over 150 historical objects, more than 30 works of art, and nearly 50 films and digital interactive experiences.
Our scope
Zone Display Cases, in partnership with Exhibit Builder Solomon Group, was contracted to create a number of high-end, conservation-quality display cases.
These cases serve the vital role of preserving and displaying a variety of sensitive artifacts, including basketry, pottery, spiritual and agricultural artifacts, weapons, documents, and musical instruments.
Additionally, a large table case was provided to showcase a detailed model of rice farming.

Challenge
One of the most prominent challenges faced during the project was the significant instability in project scheduling and the frequent turnover of key project personnel.
The project experienced multiple disruptions for various reasons, demanding a high degree of adaptability and flexibility for everyone involved in this project.
Solution
The diligence, dedication, and strong organizational skills of our project manager, dedicated to this endeavor, facilitated an effective transition of communication to new team members joining the project. Cost and deadline monitoring were professionally and systematically managed, and our exceptional flexibility greatly contributed to the successful and timely delivery of this remarkable project.
