Zone Display Cases designed and producted museum display cases for the American Democracy and Many Voices, One Nation at National Museum of American History.

The Scope

Designed by Haley Sharpe and completed in collaboration with Los Angeles-based Cinnabar, Zone Display Case’s scope of work was to complete the design, production, and installation of nearly hundred museum display cases for two specific galleries; American Democracy and Many Voices, One Nation.

Among all museum display cases, an impressive 12-foot-long table top glass display case with a one-piece glass top, and an enormous freestanding display case with a 700 lbs, 13 ft. by 10 ft. glass door, both to be opened by a single person.

Challenge

The complexity was mainly related to the design itself, with nearly a hundred cases of various shapes and sizes to be modelized and delivered with a set budget and a tight timeline.

Our Solutions

The 3D design software that we used, combined with weekly group meetings were key to the completion of this project.

Assigning a full-time dedicated Project Manager and Senior Designer was also essential and allowed us to keep on track with schedules and budgets.
