Air exchange rate protocol
Conservation matters a lot when we design and manufacture our display cases. Nowadays, most curators and conservators want to display their collections in dustproof and climate-controlled environments. For this, a key factor is a low rate of air exchange between the display chamber and the ambient air.
Air exchange rates can and should be monitored and calculated by an appropriate data logger and some specialized equipment. Unfortunately, many manufacturers claim that their display cases meet strict conservation guidelines despite wide fluctuations in climate and humidity, presence of dust, and frequent replacement of desiccants, not to mention their inability to provide accurate test results.
We’ve developed our own testing protocol to demonstrate how well our display cases perform in terms of climate and dust control. We’ll proudly provide data logging charts that clearly and precisely illustrate the actual air exchange rate within your/our display cases.
Because we take conservation very seriously!
